On 1st October, the Ironbridge Phase 3 site hosted a group of school students, giving them an introduction to the exciting world of construction and ground engineering. The children engaged in a variety of activities including a talk on Cognition’s works at Ironbridge from our Operations Director, Charlie Jarvis, and an explanation on the operation of the excavators from our Health and Safety Co-Ordinator, Mike Honeyman, and our Health and Safety Manager, Jake Johnston.
To top off their experience, Thomas Plant kindly donated two mini excavators and a Volvo EC220 excavator, giving the children the chance to climb inside and explore them. To ensure the children’s safety, our site team created bespoke steps to allow safe access onto the EC220. The children were sent home with goody bags to help them remember their day out on a real construction site.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day go so smoothly!
