From Monday 27th October 2025 to Thursday 30th October 2025, Cognition hosted another eager work experience student, 16-year-old Fadi Alsayegh. His aspiration is to do a Civil Engineering degree once he has completed his GCSEs.
In working with the team at Cognition, he gained invaluable insight into our work in complex civil engineering and remediation and was given the opportunity to develop practical skills within the sector. Cognition aimed to make the experience engaging and informative for him. He visited multiple different sites and offices to get a sense of the daily machinations of our work.
Fadi had the following to say when reflecting on his time at Cognition:
“During my work experience at Cognition Land and Water, I attended meetings, visited construction sites and researched into projects. It helped me to realise my capabilities and what I’m able to achieve in the future. Throughout the week, I was accompanied by lots of Cognition employees, who helped me to understand some of their key construction specialties, such as remediation, and how they use it on the site. They also explained to me how tenders work. Everything I learnt during my time here was due to the support of all the staff at Cognition. Their friendliness and communication eased me into the warm team environment within the company.”
It is Cognition’s pleasure to be able to support the learning and development of young people as they navigate entering the working world. We hope that we have provided a meaningful and educational experience for Fadi that will stay with him throughout his educational journey and future career.
