Cognition’s work continues to progress steadily across the Meridian Water Strategic Infrastructure Works (SIW) project. The In-Channel Civils programme has now completed three of the four planned slab-strengthening operations within the existing Pymmes Brook. Careful use of dams and over-pumping has ensured that the watercourse remains fully operational throughout these works.
In Zone 5, utility diversions are complete, paving the way for the future installation of key services along the Central Spine Road. These diversions cover deep drainage, ACO channels, communications, power and electrical ducting.
Following the completion of bridge abutments, retaining walls and wing walls, backfilling of the bridge approaches is now well underway. Our team continues to work closely with Oliver Connell & Sons to coordinate back-of-wall drainage requirements.
Preparations are being finalised for the thrust bore operation, which will install a siphon beneath Pymmes Brook. Extensive temporary works have been implemented to support this complex activity.
In Brooks Park, earthworks are almost complete and the park will be handed over to landscaping partner ATM and others to complete the structures and hard and soft landscaping.
Verification reporting following the completion of the contamination remediation continues at pace, with supporting information submitted to the Environment Agency for approval as part of our ongoing proactive engagement with the regulators. This marks the conclusion of turnover and earthworks across the development plots.
