The emptying of the historic tar tank is currently in progress, supported by a fully operational on-site liquid treatment system. This complex activity is being carefully managed to ensure a controlled and responsible approach throughout.

Alongside these activities, excess materials generated by the works are being carefully managed and removed from site on an ongoing basis, ensuring the site remains well organised, safe and compliant while enabling multiple work fronts to progress concurrently.

Looking ahead, tar tank cleaning, demolition and removal are programmed to commence early next year - another significant step in transforming this site.
